A Letter from the Editor
by Madeleine Craig
If you’ve picked up this Bonfire edition, you may be thinking: Hey, I remember, remember Bonfire Night being the 5th of November, not the 13th. What gives?
What gives indeed, dear readers. The fact is that this issue should have come out for Bonfire Night. Our staff, however, was away in baking-hot-mythically-unwalkable city of Los Angeles, and it’s-the-subway-not-the-tube New York City for showcase. Thanks for waiting for us!
If you want to see student work in the building this month, check out the Autumn Season from Nov. 27- Dec. 3! Shows include A Dream, Yerma, Time and the Conways, and Liolà. Gear up, because tomorrow, Nov. 14, is the BHM Sleazy at 6:30 in our very own Common Room!
Our talented LAMDA grads are making work around the city that you can catch, as well. The following are opening soon:
· Samya De Meo, Yaw Osafo-Kantanka, and Roland Royal III star in JULIUS CAESAR at the Omnibus Theatre until Nov. 15
· Kelly Strandemo’s short film, HOLD, screening at the Phoenix Rising International Film Festival in London on November 15.
· Patria o Muerte: The Revolutionary Tragedy of Fidel Castro at Riverside Studio on Nov. 23. Written by and starring Leo Oliva, directed by Gus Hodgson, sound design by Velia De Nicola, also starring Natalia May, Diego Zozaya.
· Candace Leung is intimacy director for The Sea Horse, at Golden Goose Theatre until Nov 15
Thank you for picking us up and thank you even more for not putting us down! Grab hot chocolate from the LAMDA Café, snuggle up in the common room, and enjoy the Bonfire Issue!
Madeleine Craig, editor-in-chief
